At Texas Living Company, we’re proud to work alongside professionals who lead with both excellence and heart, and Catherine Sdao is a shining example of that commitment. For the past five years, Catherine has dedicated her time, energy, and compassion to Dress for Success Houston, serving as a passionate advocate for empowering women to achieve economic independence. Her journey began while volunteering with the Junior League of Houston, where she was first introduced to the nonprofit’s mission. When it came time to decide whether to remain active or move into a Sustainer role within the League, Catherine made a bold and selfless choice—she transitioned to Sustainer status so she could devote herself fully to Dress for Success.
That decision wasn’t just about volunteering; it was about finding her philanthropic home. “I am so thankful for the Junior League’s community partnerships, and the doorways it opened, to finding where I felt I most philanthropically belonged,” Catherine shares. Since then, she has played an active role in supporting Dress for Success Houston’s annual events, mentorship programs, and fundraising initiatives, like the WOW Spring Fling which helps raise money to provide career resources, professional development, and confidence to women entering the workforce.
Catherine’s impact goes far beyond sponsorships and events... it’s personal. She often says she’s gained just as much from Dress for Success as she’s given: “I am still passionate about DFS’s mission and believe I have benefited just as much from the organization as they have from me because of the like-minded women I’ve befriended.” Her story is a reminder that service builds bridges between people, purpose, and possibility.
We are incredibly proud of Catherine’s dedication and grateful to have her representing Texas Living Company in such meaningful work. Her leadership and unwavering dedication have helped connect Texas Living Company to an organization that mirrors our values: community, compassion, and empowerment.
